Fall Harvest Auction

Our Fall Harvest Auction is a long standing tradition held on the Saturday morning of Thanksgiving weekend. Fresh, locally grown produce and an assortment of items donated by local businesses are auctioned off by Robbie White – our honorary Rotarian volunteer auctioneer.  This popular fundraising event draws many islanders and visitors for a chance to bid on some fantastic items and services with the proceeds going to various community needs.

Dinner Theatre

It is a one night event early in July with the cooperation of the Gore Bay Summer Theatre. The date and play choices are decided closer to the event. This classy event is usually a roast beef dinner with all of the fixings and wine on each table. After dinner, the play chosen for the event is held upstairs at the Gore Bay Community Hall.

It tends to sell out quickly, so get your tickets early at the Town Hall once it is announced.

Pancake Breakfast

Held annually on the Saturday morning of Gore Bay’s Harbour Days celebration (the 4th weekend of July). Early birds enjoy a breakfast of pancakes, sausages, picnic bacon and pure locally made maple syrup.

Come out to the McQuarrie Pavilion on Gore Bay’s beautiful waterfront and join us for breakfast!

Fish Fry

The long-standing Fish Fry that Rotary has been holding on Harbour Days weekend is our big summer fundraiser. Held on the fourth weekend in July, Saturday starts with the Rotary Breakfast for the early risers and ends with a WhiteFish dinner that includes potato wedges, corn on the cob, bun, drink, and ice cream for dessert. Excellent value and a great community gathering.

Santa Claus Parade

Held annually in early December, Rotary Club members serve hot chocolate to parade goers while they watch the floats go by.

A hot cup of cocoa is just the thing to keep onlookers warm while they wait for Santa Claus to appear!

Frosty Cup

This multi-day hockey tournament is held at the Gore Bay Arena. Teams from across Manitoulin Island play in friendly this competition vying for the honour of winning the “Frosty Cup”. Rotary volunteers operate this licensed event upstairs in the observation lounge. The funds raised are distributed to help individuals and families within the local communities.
